About NH Research…

NH Research (NHR) designs and manufactures diagnostic test equipment used to functionally test several types of electronic power devices such as power supplies, converters, telecom rectifiers, chargers, adapters, inverters and UPSs. For automotive HEV/EV applications, NHR builds test equipment for batteries, auxillary power modules and chargers. NHR test equipment consists of both power instruments such as AC and DC programmable loads as well as automated test systems controlled through a full featured test executive on a PC. Applications include production test, engineering characterization, agency certification qualification, and depot repair. Located in Irvine, California, Shenzhen and Suzhou, China, NH Research has been in the power electronics test equipment business for over 30 years. NHR Building

Programmable AC and DC Electronic Loads

A complete line of modular and high-power loads originally developed to meet the exacting requirements of test system integrators is available for use either in a PC-controlled test system or as a manually-controlled bench-top instrument. All loads incorporate a built-in waveform digitizer that yields an unprecedented 18 different dynamic measurements from a single capture. In addition, a new touch-panel graphic control interface on certain models provides both expanded instrument control functionality and display of test waveforms.

Automatic Test Systems (ATE)

This group of products consists of PC-controlled, load-intensive test systems that feature a powerful test executive to get the customer up and testing in a minimum amount of time…often just a few hours. For instance, power supply manufacturers will use the emPower® test executive that includes a comprehensive library of power supply test routines. Each test routine needs only entry of the pass-fail limits to complete a full test step. In this manner, the test engineer is often able to create a complete test program without having to write any code.

Worldwide Support

NHR test equipment is usually an essential final step in a customer’s production lines or laboratory, thus load and system reliability along with responsive support are absolutely critical. To ensure this capability, NHR is fully staffed with the technical resources, diagnostic tools and replacement parts necessary to resolve problems anywhere in the world. This support system includes knowledgeable application engineers backed up by the actual product designers, regularly scheduled factory training programs, calibration services and on-line support.

NHR’s commitment is to provide advanced test capability together with the fastest test execution times to ensure world-class competitiveness for its customers.
