Appication
The 4600 Series AC Electronic Loads are intended for applications
that require the entire range of non-linear loading to thoroughly
test AC-output power conversion devices. This programmable load will
also eliminate the delays associated with fixed load change-overs.
Items tested include uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs) and inverters.
The benefits of such a wide range of load control is to assure product
performance under all extremes of "real-world" operating
conditions.
Broad Operating Envelope
To cover a wide range of UPS and inverter power levels, the 4600 Series
AC electronic loads can be paralleled up to 36 kW. All units operate
from 50 to 350 VAC-input and in several emulation modes such as constant-current,
constant-voltage, constant-resistance, constant-power as well as short-circuit.
A "One- Box" Test Solution
With a PC controller, everything needed to test most AC-output products
is contained within the 4600 Series AC Electronic Load. In addition
to the flexible load control, twelve high-accuracy measurements include:
voltage, current, peak-current, frequency, crest-factor, power-factor
and true power. Even the real-time voltage, current and power waveforms
are displayed on the PC soft panel. This ability to make all measurements
internally eliminates multiple, external stand-alone instruments plus
associated signal matrixing and interconnect wiring. In this manner,
the 4600 Series AC electronic load provides for a more compact, less
costly and considerably faster test solution.
System Or Manual Applications Throughout The Enterprise
The applications for the 4600 Series AC electronic loads are many. While
primarily designed for final functional test within an automatic test
station, the AC load can be used with just a PC for engineering design
verification test, incoming quality inspection and returned unit repairs.
To facilitate rapid integration and popular programming language compatibility,
the 4600 Series AC load is supplied with a PC-hosted graphic user interface
plus LabVIEW drivers.
